A Little Bit o' Fyrinnae

A Little Bit o' Fyrinnae

One night on Twitter (why do all of my posts seems to start like this?!) I got all in a tizzy after seeing somebody tweet about how they thought Fyrinnae might be drawing to an end. If you've kept up with all of the Fyrinnae dramas and troubles over the years, you wouldn't blame me for having to agree with the tweet. It would really be the end of an indie make-up powerhouse if Fyrinnae closed, but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Fyrinnae are the company who got me into indie cosmetics - I would spend literally hours on the site, writing out wishlists, googling for swatches...You could say that they nurtured the make-up junkie in me! For old time's sake,  I decided to place an order of a few things I'd always been meaning to buy...

[[ Fyrinnae Swatches: Montalivet // Te Amo // Mephisto // Fire Opal // Pumpkin Fire ]]

Eeee, just look at how pretty they all are! 'Mephisto' is an incredible shade - coppery red over a blue base, in some lights it looks deep blue, in others purple, in others pure copper. It also looks so awesome in the jar, like somebody stole a galaxy of stars and planets and somehow turned it into an eyeshadow. 'Pumpkin Fire' is 10 x glitzier than it looks above, SO MUCH fine glitter over a matte, black base - can't wait to rock it on the next night out!

I also bought a full size of 'Centre Stage' highlighter, since it's the perfect shade for me (a little too cool toned, if I'm being fussy!) Fyrinnae highlighters aren't glittery or shimmery, they just add a touch of light to your skin, great for a 'I'm naturally radiant' look - though I don't think I'd be fooling anybody haha :)

What are your favourite Fyrinnae shades? Do you think the end is nigh?

(P.S) Yesterday I got a quote for getting my Canon 450D fixed...it would total around £175 including tax and postage, so it actually makes more financial sense that I buy a brand new camera! Probably a Canon 550D, though I'm debating my first Nikon. Any camera geeks out there? Thoughts?
