REVIEW - OCC Lip Tars in 'Hoochie' and 'Trick'

I couldn't quite resist snapping two OCC lip tars up recently and I'm very glad I did! I'm sure you're all familiar with them by now since they exploded into Youtubeguruland sometime around two years ago (though they have been around longer, I'm sure). The idea is simple - a variety of different coloured, opaque 'glosses' that you can mix to find your perfect shade...

The packaging is like a regular squeeze tube gloss with the OCC logo, name of the product and ingredients printed on it. Functional and to the point - perfect.

'Trick' is a little too peach to call it a nude, it also leans neither too warm nor cold, so would suit many skintones. I think it is a lovely every day shade and I've been wearing it with orangey blush for a fresh, warm look. 'Hoochie' is a vibrant pink-purple which practically screams 'LOOK AT ME! LOOOOK!' and pops like a glowing beacon of gorgeousness from your lips. It leans more blue than red, yet still suits my warm skintone - the added bonus of blue toned lip colours is that they make your teeth look pearly white.

You only teen a teeny, tiny, pathetically small amount to cover your whole lips in one opaque coat. I'm talking miniscule, I only use a blob about the size of a pin head - I'm not kidding, these babies spread...and spread...and spread. One tube will last you forever because you barely need to apply any! The lip tars have a mint smell to them, which I usually hate, but it's subtle and soft enough not to make me want to wipe it off as soon as I apply.

Both shades feel smooth and comfortable on the lips and dry to a semi-matte finish. I say 'dry' because these really are like paints in make-up form! They have the texture of a creamy gloss, minus the sticky feeling. They last a little longer than lipsticks on me and leave a faint stain once wiped away.

I'll definitely be buying more of these, they're fantastic! I've got my eye on RX (blue), Katricia (purple), Feathered (white), Anime (neon pink) and Hush (pinkish nude)...quite a few, then....

These cost £8.99 for 8ml of product I bought mine from Love Make-up and would fully recommend them for fast delivery and good customer service. Also available from OCC Makeup site for $13.

(P.S) Which OCC lip tar would YOU like to own? I'll be adding one to the next giveaway, so you never know, it could be yours!
